About me

Hi, my name is Katy and my home is in a beautiful town called Wivenhoe in Essex, England. I have been married to Paul for 6 years and we have 4 year old, identical twin boys, Noah and Miles. I am the owner and creator of Compass Crafts

Katy Freeman and FamilyI’ve been crafting my whole life but have been a scrapbooker since the summer of 2005. Back in the day, I used to spend all the time that I wasn’t studying or working, crafting or shopping for crafting supplies. When the twins were born, my life changed and suddenly I had little time for me, but I had even more reasons to scrapbook – I needed to find a way to simplify my scrapbooking without losing my style.

This is when I joined Stampin’ Up!

I needed to not  worry about choosing papers that ‘went’ together, I needed things that would coordinate and Katy Freeman from Compass CraftsI needed to know I could buy them without scouring the internet or spending hours driving to craft stores! What came along as an added bonus is the inspiration from thousands of other crafters worldwide, oh and by sharing my projects and collecting orders from others – I actually get my stash for free! All of these combine to mean I can spend more time crafting!

My team encourage me to create and share, and to reach for my goals of becoming a Silver Elite Demonstrator. Their own passions for crafting is what bought us together and they now benefit like I do. We are always looking for others who feel the same and I’d love to hear from you if this interests you, just like it did me!

Noah and Miles are now at school and I work part time for a small company, teaching Maths to adults. With the rest of my ‘gained’ time I want to ensure more of you are inspired to create and share. My website and business aim to facilitate this.

Through Compass Crafts I want to guide you, to further your own creative journey and enjoy the products as much as I do.
