To give my kit purchasers lots of inspiration, I’ve been using the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! in lots of my projects this month and my layout for the Stick it Down Sketch design team was another great place to use it.
The layout is nothing to do with Birthdays, so I used one of the more ‘plain’ prints – not a balloon or party hat in sight. It’s got a great Summer vibe. I love the versatility of this paper, and indeed the whole suite.
The pictures are of my twins on inflatable jet skis. They love to have a go on these when we go on holidays. I wanted to highlight the movement of the water so used a few different techniques and products to achieve this.
Repeatedly stamping the sea from the High Tide Stamp Set on various parts of the page was a great start. I also as a base for my journaling. I coordinated the ink colour (Bermuda Bay) with the card I’d used throughout to keep it subtle. Talking of card, I used the seaside embossing folder on the letters of the title.
Hint: Emboss the piece of card first, then cut the letters.
I then used the scallop border from the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies on our Velum cardstock to attract attention to the bottom right corner. I finished the layout with sequins spread diagonally – well, just because I like sequins!
This was my layout for this months Stick it Down Sketch. I kept quite close to this months’s sketch, as it was very much in keeping with my style. I love how different everyone’s interpretation of the sketch can be. Check out the layouts the rest of the single page team came up with here.
Why not have a go at creating your own layout from this sketch, and add it to the sidebar on the Stick it Down Blog!
